Immune System Support

How Does Stress Affect The Immune System?

When the body experiences stress it releases corticosteroids (cortisol) and catecholamines (epinephrine, norepinephrine) that can lead to an immuno-suppressed state, which in turn creates a back door for infections and harmful agents.

The severity of the immuno response is reflective of the degree of the stress the body experiences. In other words, stress causes a reduction in the body's ability to ward off infections.

Dietary Factors That Suppress The Immune System.

Nutritional Deficiencies, Excess consumption of sugar, Consuming offending foods that trigger a reaction in the body.

Bacterial versus Viral Infections.

Bacteria:  Single-celled organisms that multiply by division.

Examples would be, respiratory infections, otitis media, tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, whooping cough.

Viruses:   They are an exceptionally tiny pathogen.  They do not divide or reproduce on their own.  Instead, they invade a cell, highjack the cell's metabolic processes, thereby forcing the cell to reproduce the virus in mass numbers. Viruses cannot be wiped out by antibiotics.   Examples would be, common cold, flu, some pneumonias and bronchitis.

Options:

Immune Support Liquid:  A homeopathic remedy to relieve symptoms related to immune system dysfunction and the symptoms that occur when a secondary bacterial infection is present.  This formula relieves symptoms of cough, fever, muscle pain, sore throat, swollen glands, bronchial congestion, ear, nose and throat congestion.

Influenza Plus Liquid:  A homeopathic remedy containing a wide variety of influenza strains that relieve symptoms of the flu.  Relieves symptoms that may be caused by viruses such as high fever, chills, headache, fatigue, cough, sore throat, runny and stuffy nose, congestion, body aches, vomiting and diarrhea.

Real Vitamin C:  Strengthens the immune system, decreases oxidative stress, lessens the duration and symptoms of illness.

Glutathione:. Supports the immune system and helps the detoxification process and is safe for people with an autoimmune disease. Low levels of glutathione play a role in numerous disease conditions and aging.

Echinacea:. Echinacea is a powerful traditional herb for immunity. Commonly used in cold and flu remedies, Echinacea also has strong anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and immuno modulation effects. Echinacea may enhance healing from EBV due to its specific antiviral activity while also supporting macrophage activity. Echinacea has also been shown to control the body’s pro-inflammatory responses to viruses. This helps lower systemic inflammation in the body and keep the immune system properly coordinated.

Elderberry:  Eliminates bacterial infections and viral infections such as colds, flu, bronchitis and sinusitis.  Elderberry has been shown to lessen the symptoms and duration of colds, viruses and flu. This plant is a powerful anti-viral and antioxidant.
