Some Of The Warning Signs You May Have Parasites!

Karen Fitzpatrick-Dame, ChhC, AADP

Parasites are organisms that live off other organisms, or hosts, to survive. It is estimated that up to one-third of the population is infected with some type of parasite. Parasites can be transmitted through exposure to contaminated water, juice, food, pets, and soil. A common misconception surrounding parasites is that they cause digestive issues only, but they are also capable of causing systemic illness and symptoms as well.

Parasites can significantly impact vital organ systems such as the gut, heart, and brain. The presence of a parasitic infection strongly correlates to the composition of the person's gut microbiomes. Some parasites can lead to heart disease. Parasite infections can effect the brain and central nervous system. Since the gut and brain are intimately connected, parasites that get to the brain can cause seizures, epilepsy, brain fog, processing problems and difficulty with brain signaling.

Parasite infections can have a profound effect on hormone health, that is both sex hormones and thyroid hormones.
